What is Cognivex Limited and what does it do?
Cognivex Limited is a registered Kenyan software company based in Nairobi. We build enterprise and health information systems, including hospital management software, back-office platforms and developer infrastructure, for organisations in Kenya and the wider East African market.
Where is Cognivex based and which markets does it serve?
Cognivex operates from Nairobi, Kenya. We are a registered Kenyan limited company. Working locally means we build for local realities — intermittent connectivity, cost sensitivity and the actual staffing capacity of the institutions that use our systems.
What software products does Cognivex currently build?
Three product lines are in active development. Cognivex HMIS is a hospital information system covering admissions, billing, pharmacy, wards, lab results and insurance claims. FlexQuery is a .NET library suite for data-driven services. VeltrixLabs is an administrative platform for enterprise back-office operations.
What does the Cognivex HMIS hospital system actually do?
Cognivex HMIS brings admissions, billing, pharmacy, wards, lab results and insurance claims into a single patient record. The goal is one system that reconciles, so clinical and administrative staff stop reconciling separate registers by hand.
What is FlexQuery and which developers is it for?
FlexQuery is a .NET library suite for building data-driven services, covering querying, action flows and persistence with EF Core and ASP.NET integration. We built it for our own products first and publish it as packages our own stack depends on in production.
Does Cognivex only work with hospitals and clinics?
No. Health systems are where our deepest product work sits, but our engineering covers enterprise operations and developer infrastructure generally. If your organisation runs a complex, high-stakes process on spreadsheets and paper, that is the problem we solve.
How does an engagement with Cognivex work?
We start by sitting with the people doing the work, then build the riskiest part first so unknowns surface early. You receive working increments throughout rather than a single delivery at the end, and we support the system after it launches.
Do you work with clients outside Kenya?

What technology stack does Cognivex build on?
Our products are built on .NET with PostgreSQL. We favour boring, well-understood technology that a local team can maintain for years over whatever is currently fashionable, because the systems we build need to still be running a decade from now.
